PRN EMT Opportunity (8hours shifts) at The Camp Recovery Center – Scotts Valley, CA

Pay Range: $24.00 - $27.00

We are hiring a compassionate and experienced PRN Emergency Care Technician to work with our clients at The Camp Recovery Center in Scotts Valley! This is a key role whose primary goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for our adult clients who have co-occurring disorders (substance use disorder and mental health disorders). The Camp is a 74-bed treatment center providing services to adults on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Accurately obtain and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure.
• Use emergency skills and knowledge to assess a patient’s cardiac and respiratory status or manage and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with the completion of patient biopsychosocial assessment, including assisting with admission and discharge of patients.
• Monitor physical and emotional well-being of patients and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to appropriate staff.
• Prepare and maintain records of progress and services performed.
• Give medications, following instructions from physicians, other prescribing medical professionals or where approved by state law or regulations for EMTs.
• Collaborate with other staff in working with the population of the facility to treat, rehabilitate and return patients to the community.
• Comply with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintain organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional education or training which results in certification or licensure as an EMT per state requirements required.
• Previous experience in behavioral health setting, as well as knowledge and experience working with the population of the facility, preferred.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensure, per state requirements.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

COMPENSATION:

Compensation for roles at THE CAMP RECOVERY CENTER varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, THE CAMP RECOVERY CENTER provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

State – California: $24.00 - $27.00

This is a PRN EMT position. Shifts are 8 – hours, and are overtime eligible
